Friends and sun

The weather was simply awesome today. Damn hot, sunny and to top it off, a beautiful and very big flower market in the city, which only happens once in the year. The city was crowded with Germans who came here to buy flowers. Friends and I went to a park around a lake to have a picnic and had a great time. I got a bit of a tan, we played frisbee and enjoyed the weather and the nice scenery. I will include some pics here tomorrow!

Flower Parade (Netherlands, Abril 2011)

Last weekend I went with friends to the biggest flower parade in the Netherlands. It happens once a year and this year about a million people attended. They have some floats with figures made from flowers and it's kind of cool. Only thing is Dutch people in general REALLY don't know how to express it when they like something, be it clapping, shouting, whistling or anything like that. So people did not get too excited as many others would, but it was cool nonetheless.
We went by car with a Dutch friend of ours who was driving and also saw some really beautiful flower fields in the area near Amsterdam. The weather is getting quite warm now and flowers are just blooming everywhere! It's quite beautiful and I will certainly miss this show of nature when I move out of Europe. But from what I have seen, the US also has some amazingly beautiful places and scenery.

Beautiful Groningen!

Yesterday I went to a friend's house to have some juice she makes. She goes out in the fields and collects the fruits herself and then makes the juice, which she stores in her basement. The thing is she lives about 40 minutes by bike from my place, basically outside of Groningen. So I just printed my Google Map route and headed for her place (of course, fearing I would get lost in the outskirts of Groningen and never be found again...). The route to her place is simply BEATIFUL!! Lots of green fields and pastures, canals, cows, sheet, horses, ponies, dragons.. ok, forgot about the dragons. But it's simply amazing. I wanna go back there, maybe for a picnic or something. The small of farm and animals is simply enchanting (that is, if an slight odor of dung does not put you off... hehehe). I had no idea Groningen was so beautiful, even after being here for more than 7 months now.
Everything is going great here. I will be quite sad to leave Europe, but I know deep in my heart I will be back sometime soon. Hungary, here I come! :) I look forward to my US experience though and I am sure I will have a great time there too. After US, Hungary, China, Israel and let's see what else comes my way. Well, that's the plan... let us see where life takes me, though! hahaha!
I discovered a great Brazilian singer today (her name is Ive Mendes), simply delicious (talking about the music here, guys, don't take me wrong...). But she is also quite beautiful and sexy, I must admit. She has European and indigenous roots, awesome mixture! :)

Swimming and mandioca

Heys guys!
Wow, today has been a really good day so far! At lunch time I went swimming (so relaxing!) and then had lunch at a special person's place. :)
For lunch we had a delicious cheese quiche, some lekker salad and some mandioca!!! Yummy!
Now I am back to studies, trying to mentally burn all those calories I ate for lunch! :)
