Here is a group I love, called Kronos Quartet. Whatever they play is really powerful stuff. In this video they have some guests.

Bartok - 3 Hungarian Folk songs from Csík
Hey guys,
Here is a beautiful piece by the Hungarian composer Bela Bártok: 3 Hungarian Folk Songs from Csík. It's quite short but in my opinion amazingly beautiful. Let me know what you think:

Hungarian folk music
Hey guys,
I just found out about a great Hungarian singer who writes Hungarian folk songs with an Indian and Arabic influence. It sounds damn good!!!
Give it a listen:

Iowa State visit
Now it's official. I will be doing my PhD at Iowa State University of Science and Technology.
I just came back from a campus visit and it looks like I will have a very productive time there. The city of Ames is also quite nice. Quiet, great quality of life and most of all, Iowans are quite warm and friendly.
During my trip, I went to a Brazilian Carnival in Minneapolis with some new-made friends: one woman from Brazil and a really nice Portuguese couple. We danced a lot, went to a Brazilian grill house (Fogo de Chao), checked Barnes and Nobles out and laughed a lot. I even ate Pao de Queijo and Polenta for free!!!! :) That's how lucky vegetarians get when we go to a steak house!!! hahaha
Here are some pics of the trip:

Brazilian Carnival and Horse and Goat chasing in Iowa....
Hey!
Things are going PERFECT here in my visit in Iowa, USA. The people here are so friendly and the university is quite nice and prestigious in my areas. Several Nobel Prize winners laureates studied here.
I just came back from a Brazilian carnival party in Minneapolis with another Brazilian woman and a Portuguese couple. We had a lot of fun together and they all live in Ames, Iowa, where I should be moving to in a few months.
On the way back to Ames, we saw two awesome things. The first one was a huge flock of migrating birds, all flying in perfect alignment for over 2 minutes. Loads of them. Beautiful.
Later on on the road, we saw some traffic and then realized that a small horse and a goat were running away together from a farm!!! There were police cars on the road, other cars and also the owner of the goat and horse, all trying to get a hold of the outlaws!!! hahaha! It was SO damn cute!
I will try to post some pictures soon!

In Ames (Iowa, USA)
Hey guys,
So, yesterday I arrived in Ames (IOWA), the city where Iowa State University is located. I had the honor to be picked up at the airport by one of the professors himself. The talked a lot on the way to Ames and he dropped me off at the hotel, which is inside one of the main university buildings itself. It was snowing lightly and there was (and still is) lots of snow on the ground.
Even though I have already lived in the US (Miami Beach), I had forgotten just how fucked up nutrition is here, man. It's just sandwiches, cakes, pies and fattening stuff EVERYWHERE!!! Hard to find healthy stuff even in the university itself!!
Right now there are some guys having a really heavy meal for breakfast behind me! But actually that might not be a bad idea, to have a powerful breakfast every morning. I will try it tomorrow.. heheh
ANyways, today some of the activities start and it should be cool. I will keep you guys posted. :)

Some news
Hey guys,
Long time no post. :)
So, lately I have been busy here at home, studying Hungarian, doing stuff for the thesis, writing a software review and some other stuff. I went to a Brazilian Carnival party some days ago and it was funny. Lots of Ivete Sangalo playing, funk da baixada, hahaha! I went with a Brazilian girl from Foz do Iguaçu who lives in my building, super sweet.
Soon I will be going to the US to visit what will very likely be my next university, called Iowa State University. More news when I get back! :)
Viszlát! (Tchau in Hungarian)
